Project 1

The strategy proposed in the Project 1 presentation was focussed primarily with identifying issues related to urban planning and infrastructure both in Canberra and nation-wide.

Through this scope, the main aim was not to radically change the parliamentary process of Australia but to address IDENTITY, CAPITAL, INFRASTRUCTURE + PRESENCE. It was envisaged that this would be addressed through an infrastructural solution that supplied the levels of connectivity and the social spaces requisite for a city to thrive and become worthy of a nation's capital.

It is for this reason that the department responsible for Australia's national infrastructure projects, Infrastructure Australia, was incorporated into the proposal of the mixed use transit oriented developments, as it would be responsible for engaging such an ambitious scheme.
